Every Purchase from One Eyed Woodworker Plants a Tree

From today - for every bud vase, wooden bowl, or other wood-turned item sold on this website, a percentage of the money will go towards the planting of a tree through the Eden Reforestation Projects.

This has been something I’ve been meaning to set up for a while, and I have now finally put thought into action.

Via theGoodAPI, I am able to bring together my craftsmanship and conservation. Hopefully it will help the planet, even if it is just a little.

Why fund the planting of trees? Well, they are the planet’s lungs, carbon collectors and the home for countless animals.

Nurturing Nature with Every Purchase

When you buy one of my handturned pieces for your home (or as a gift for a loved one) you're also now helping to fund sustainability.

Specifically - the Eden Reforestation Project focuses on restoring and expanding Mangrove forests along coastlines throughout the planet. Working in some of the world’s most remote locations.

Through theGoodAPI, any of the trees planted on the back of a product sale from this website will be in Madagascar. A place where around 90% of all wildlife is endemic.

So these new trees will help to shield life by restoring natural habitats and trapping carbon. Playing a crucial role in the battle against climate change and preserving many unique species.

The good work carried out by the Eden Reforestation Projects doesn’t just stop at the planting of the tree, they are committed to ensuring the long-term survival of the trees and also helping local communities.

People from local communities are hired to plant the trees, helping to provide local jobs. The added benefit is that when a local community has worked to restore a forest, a sense of “ownership” is experienced.

Now, buying a piece from me means you are not just buying a piece of home decor, you are helping to plant hope.

With each product ordered, we’re all working to become an advocate for a greener future.

I believe that crafting isn't just about creating beauty, it's about contributing to a better world.
