James Harding aka “One Eyed Woodworker” is a woodturner based in Penicuik, Scotland.

All wood turned items are made from locally sourced sustainable British timber, or carpentry business offcuts - timber that would otherwise end up in landfills.

Sycamore bowl. A gift. One bowl in exchange for a handmade bracelet from my goddaughter. A good swap I reckon.
I was itching to turn this spalted beech bowl. I bought the blank on Saturday and turned it on the Sunday. It's been a while since I had a spalted beech blank and it's always fun seeing the pattern emerge. And this piece has some really nice patter
Ash bowl. Nice piece of ash with a subtle bit of colouring running through it. Currently trying to build up a few bowls for the Christmas period.
A little colour. After some good results with some spindles I tried doing some colour work on this piece of Lime I had lying around the workshop (side note: I never want to turn lime again - it was not fun. Especially when sanding). It came out ok,
Beech vase, dyed number 2. Enjoying messing around with colour. Adding some black to this one. Bit like Lava? Bonfire? That old shirt that is a picture of flames? I bought 3 colours on a whim and now need to buy more so I have a bigger pallete.
